The film is finally finished after a month of filming, re-filming, and editing. I feel a lot better now that things are finally completed. The completion of this cinematic endeavor makes me happier than ever! Making an opening sequence was a lot of fun for me even though the editing process was challenging and frustrating. I believe I am improving with time which is what is important. The initial planning, storyboarding, and actual filming were my favorite parts of the project. I knew what I needed to do and how to do it during the planning stage. These portions of the project appeared to come naturally to me in terms of creativity, which made it more fun. I had to adjust to things quickly and work efficiently throughout the entire process of developing this film. All of the work that needed to be done felt overwhelming at times, but my teammates supported and inspired me. I'm grateful to my incredible team for supporting me every step of the way and maintaining open lines of communication. It was fantastic to be able to observe the production process up close since it made me more aware of the little intricacies that appear in the finished product. Because of our meticulous attention to detail and perfectionist tendencies, I believe the film turned out really well!
Hi everyone, my name is Lucia Rodriguez and I am currently a sophomore in high school! I am so excited to finally be doing the final task for this class. This class has been quite the journey but I feel like I have learned so much in such a short amount of time. This class piqued my interest since it gave me the opportunity to engage in numerous filming processes and see the media come to life. I was hoping to have a better understanding of the work involved in producing these events. After doing two projects for this class, I can confidently say that I have actively been involved in the behind the scenes and it is just as cool as I imagined it to be. This class also allowed me to form bonds with my classmates through a common interest while also learning how these industries work. I was able to talk to many people around me and get to know them on a personal level because we had to work together or write the same essay. At times I felt like ...
It was now time to begin the film of our project. The storyboard and script were finished, and planning was done... or so we thought. I had recently gotten a job and band season was beginning for me and another member. This completely ruined our previous recording schedule and it had to be redone entirely. We sat down in class and started to think of the days we could film, it was very limited. Although spring break seems like the best time, I will be in El Salvador the entire time. Weekends were off-limits since that is when band practices are. We all started to announce the days which were unusable. The calendar slowly got more and more filled until finally we all finished. We were left with three days; Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. These three days were back to back which is perfect for refilming and fixing up different mistakes. Now that our schedule was back on track, a new problem arose. We didn't have any transportation. Two of these days landed on a school day so we thoug...
Hello everyone, as I mentioned in the previous blog, we still had to discuss if extra footage was necessary. Unfortunately, we did not have a sufficient amount of footage and needed another day to film. Luckily, we were prepared for something like this and created a backup plan. Our plan was to wrap up the shots we were missing, but this did have a couple complications. I did not think about how we would make it look like the same day, and we needed to keep the same clothes for visual effect. Eventually, I figured it out and we wore similar clothes to the ones we used during the first day of filming. After reviewing the footage I noticed that we were not properly displaying the emotions that would help set the mood for the video. I suggested that we all try to act happier than we did during the first day of filming so it could fit the "Good Days" vibes we wanted to achieve. Another group member suggested they film the three actors getting on the ride so they can get a broader...
