Hello, I wanted to take some time to reflect and answer a couple of questions! A convention is a way in which something is usually done, within a particular area or activity. Apple states that its mission is to bring the best user experience to its customers through its innovative hardware, software, and services. Apple has challenged conventions in the technology field by promoting diversity in their commercials alongside their products. Many companies prefer to focus solely on their product and disregard anything that could take attention away from it. Apple has stated that they are making an effort to become “a better reflection of the world we live in.” According to the data, the number of Apple employees from underrepresented communities (URCs) has increased by 64%, or over 18,000 people, and makes up nearly 50% of Apple's U.S. workforce. Macbooks engage with audiences by being presented as a useful tool fit for everyone. Workers and students alike are the main targe

Commercial Blog

Hello everyone, I am proud to announce that my commercial is officially complete! This has been such an amazing learning experience and I am so excited to share the final product. This project has helped me enhance a series of skills I did not think I needed to sharpen such as my creativity, flexibility, and communication skills. Throughout the entire process of creating this commercial, I had to adjust to things quickly and work efficiently. At times, all of the work that had to be done felt overwhelming but my team encouraged me and kept me motivated. I am grateful to my amazing group for helping me every step of the way and maintaining clear communication with each other. It was really cool to be able to witness the production process up close because it made me aware of small details that appear in the final product. I feel that the commercial came out really well because of our attention to detail and perfectionist tendencies. I feel that I can definitely work with my gr

Editing the day away!

Hello everyone, our class period today was dedicated to finishing our editing! I was very productive last class with the general aspects of the visuals, so I wanted to focus on smaller details today. The song my group ended up picking was passion by pinkpantherss. The song is new and trendy, which was perfect because it fit the vibes of our commercial. I realized as I was adding the song that it was not matching up with the frames, so I had to adjust it accordingly. This was easy to achieve because my groupmates have used iMovie a couple times beforehand already, and knew how to fix it. An important element my group and I went over was picking which Apple logo to feature towards the end. We ended up picking a colorful Apple logo because of its visual appeal and simplicity. Something I left to my teammate was picking a quote to add for the end of the commercial. Quotes are normally displayed during Apple Commercials and are meant to describe their product and its usefulness. M

Hello everyone, today our teachers gave us the class period to start editing our footage! I was dreading this part of the commercial process the most because I am not very good with technology. The software I thought would be easiest to use was iMovie because I have previously used it for other projects. My group picked out the specific footage we thought came out best and added it into the software. I realized we didn't end up needing the extra footage we took last class period, but it was still nice to have extra instead of too little. I went through a bunch of different songs, but it was difficult to choose because some didn't fit the vibes of our commercial. I eventually was able to pick a song out with my group, and I am so excited to see how it will turn out. As I was going through the footage, I realized that I would have to split some clips and add them onto others because I would break character in the footage. My group wanted to imitate how Apple produces it

Errors and solutions!

Hello, today was our second day to film and get footage for our commercial! We revised all the footage we got last class and agreed that it wouldn't hurt to get more. We ran into a bit of trouble because many students were already filming outside and the atmosphere felt a bit crowded. This prompted us to film inside because it would be more convenient and blend well with our other footage. This was my second day acting, and it was definitely less nerve-racking this time around. My acting didn't feel as forced, but it was better because the scenes were shorter and less complex. My groupmates were helpful as always and encouraged me throughout the whole process. I was one of the main actors for this commercial, so I was still nervous about messing up. There were also students in the classroom, so we had to redo some shots a couple of times. By the middle of filming, we were getting kind of frustrated because there were a lot of outside disruptions. We had to sit down as
