Introduction Blog

Hello, my name is Lucia Rodriguez, and I am a sophomore in high school! I'm excited to share what I've learned in this media studies class with you throughout the year. I'm a big fan of a lot of TV shows and movies, so I'm interested in learning more about what goes on behind the scenes. This class appealed to me since it allowed me to participate in several filmmaking procedures and see the media come to life. I'm hoping to have a better grasp of the work that goes into making these shows. This class allows me to bond with my peers around a shared interest and understand how these industries function. The amount of time and effort spent on developing these many forms of media was something that struck me. With this lesson, I will most likely gain a better understanding of the rigorous and lengthy processes that these sectors must go through. I was overwhelmed by the amount of knowledge I was absorbing all at once when we had to construct a PowerPoint outlining media studies topics. There were numerous elements that I would ordinarily overlook or overlook, such as the various camera angles, soundtracks, and a variety of other things. I had a lot of fun coming up with new examples for each term, and it got me thinking about how beautiful things can be when they're placed together. The beauty of this lesson is that it encourages you to notice and evaluate things in new ways. In all honesty, if I weren't in this class, I would ignore all of these minor details and concentrate solely on the primary point they are attempting to convey. Because you sense a more personal connection with the product when you witness every single step that contributed to the final product, it is rewarding to see every small step that contributed to the final product. I want to be able to create visually beautiful, well-organized, and well-put-together media for my visitors to appreciate. Another factor that I've considered is the creative process that these directors must go through in order to bring their visions to life. I'm not used to writing storyboards or dialogue, but I think it's intriguing that you can see your thoughts. I'm hoping to work with people who encourage me to be creative and allow me to come up with new ideas while I'm working. The most important lesson from this class is my growing respect for media and how it influences my daily life. I am able to stay informed and entertained throughout my day thanks to media, which has aided in the formation of my own beliefs. I'll work hard in each session to be productive and learn something new so that at the end of the year, I'll be able to look at different types of media and have a better grasp of them.
