Wrapping up our editing!

Hello everyone, as you guys may know, today is our second and hopefully last day of editing! We have been faced with an unexpected problem that extended our editing process. Unfortunately, we had taken too much footage and it did not correlate with the storyboard. We had taken this extra footage to include new scenes but it exceeded the time limit and caused our video to not match up with the storyboard. The obvious solution to this was to get rid of these scenes, but we felt like it added to our video. So, I suggested that we shorten some clips so we could make room for an extra scene. Our editor Jacob agreed with my idea and cut some clips short so that the extra scene could make the final cut. I wanted to keep our clips in chronological order because it helps build up the excitement and the viewers basically watch the day progress. We ended up cutting more scenes that were not crucial to the main story and changing some things from the storyboard. I realized that we overestimated how much time we had for the video because we recorded some shots for too long. We have had to adjust to different situations throughout this project so this bump in the road did not phase my team and me.  Dividing the editing into two days was a great idea because we were able to thoroughly pick footage and combine it in the cleanest way possible. The music video is looking very professional because of our attention to detail and camera quality. Since we had extra footage we were able to get many shots that were stable or had little to no camera shakes. We had experienced some weather issues while filming so stable shots were something we worried about having. I worked on helping Jacob synchronize the music with the shots, which brought us very close to finishing the music video. iMovie has given us no problems throughout this editing process and I am pleased to say that the video is almost completed. My team and I have rewatched the videos a couple of times to make sure it is up to our standards. For the most part, editing has not been too bad and I am glad it is over. We are excited for everyone to see the final product so stay tuned for our music video in the next blog!
