The editing commences!
Hi everyone, we finally finished our two days of filming and are ready to begin editing. Our designated editor is Mia Obraitis, so she will be editing the film with the help of our input and opinions. We will be using iMovie because it has worked well for us in previous projects. Since Mia is a new member, we all are getting used to how she does her work and what her preferences are in editing. iMovie has always been easy to understand which helps us contribute during the editing process. Everyone was excited to give their input because we felt our creativity flow a lot during the filming process. We decided as a group to split the editing into two days so we can pay attention to detail and produce the best quality film. A big issue we will tackle the next time we edit is the music we choose for the film. Everyone picked their own music so we have to evaluate our choices and see what the best fit for the film will be. Our priority was to focus on what footage to cut so we could compile the good footage. All of the footage was taken on my phone, and we had over 70 videos to sift through and airdrop to her computer. This was a lengthy process because we had to upload the videos in chronological order so it would be easier for Mia to edit. I helped Mia by cutting down the footage and editing them all to the same size so the clips look cleaner. We kept our concept in mind and placed the footage in an order that created an ominous effect that intrigues readers. We had to make sure the shots complemented each other because it helped the film flow and look professional. Cutting the dialogue during the filming process was a great idea that ended up making things look better and it also made things easier to follow for viewers. We wanted to keep things simple and not have too much going on at once during the film so our viewers could stay engaged. As we were editing we realized our storyboard and film were basically identical which was something everyone was proud of. We finished editing for the day and will wrap things up on our second day of editing. Overall we had a productive day and are one step closer to the finished product!
